Bennett Racing 4yo Sign From Above set the speed from behind and burst through for a strong win at Ballarat Syn on Tuesday.
Blaike Mc Dougall jumped the boy well from barrier 1 and made the others work outside him as he kept kicking up. The fav was trapped 3 wide for a while but eventually crossed over at the top turn. Sign From Above was poised behind ready to strike and travelling well. As they straightened the leader kicked but Blaike waited as long as he could. Eventually he moved the gelding up outside him and took over close to the line to win running away.
A strong tough effort by Sign From Above as he was coming off and inglorious run last time which proved very uncharacteristic for him. But he lie of that form and bounced back.
The 4yo Divine Prophet gelding is building a fine record finishing 1st or 2nd in 5 of his 7 starts to date and too his overall record to 7 starts, 2 – 3 – 0 $50,380.
Sign From Above was a 100k purchase from the 2021 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. He was from the draft of Miranda Park, Hesket. The then colt was sent back to Miranda Parks beautiful property at Hesket where he grew out with Bennett Racing’s other Melbourne Premier purchases that year which included multiple metro winner Watadeel and Magnaspin, winner of the 500k The Hunter the day before. Sign from above is a son of Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet and is a ½ brother to 2yo Listed winner Destruction.
Congratulations to all owners and special thankyou to Malua Racing Leon & Troy Corstens and their Team.
