Bennet Racing 4yo mare Lexy Rose showed plenty of guts and determination when winning her Maiden at Eagle Farm on Wednesday. The very well bred daughter of Champion Sire Snitzel jumped well under Ryan Maloney and was soon just off the pace. Wearing a tongue tie for the first time the mare took a little time to settle but eventually got into a good rhythm and relaxed over the 1830m journey.
Always in contention the mare continued to race forward down the side and on straightening Ryan sent the mare to the front in the straight and held on to win narrowly. A tough win after racing a little ungenerously early but more importantly gaining that all important win especially at metropolitan level.
