Bennett Racing’s Apache Star simply ran the opposition of the feet with a great frontrunning win at Gawler on Saturday. The gelding having start number 27 won with ease after being sent to the front by Sheridan Clarke. After a short tussle for the lead Sherridan had the 5yo in good rhythm as he sailed along in front. Giving Apache a little breather down the side, she simply nursed the son of Star Witness around the turn and held him up before booting away again. Appreciating the great tactical ride and full of running Apache is a great sight heading to the line. The flashy chestnut has always been a favourite of many.

Apache’s career was in doubt earlier this prep but the horse responded to treatment and has been trouble free throughout now.

In winning Apache took his career to 28 starts, 7 – 2 – 3 $181,180 in prizemoney with 4 of those wins coming in Metropolitan South Australia.

A 67.5k purchase from the Adelaide magic Millions Sale in 2019 from Evergreen Stud, Apache is a ½ brother to the stakesplaced pair Hollywood Mo and Miss Moana all being progeny of the Galileo mare Coral Reef. Familiar to many Bennett Racing’s owners Apache is also a ½ brother to the talent 2yo metro winner Beauty Rising along with the unraced exciting trial winner Stay Focused ( Cosmic Force).

Congratulations to all owners and thankyou to Phil and Tommy Stokes for another great win with Apache Star.
