Bennett Racing 3yo Fully Justified belied his odds to break his maiden easily at Horsham.
After a very indifferent ride last time, Fully Justified looked very well placed here 3rd up out to 1800m. He drew barrier 1 and Cian McRedmond was back on. The plan was to use the gate and be near the speed but he jumped well and wanted to be forward. He over raced a little for the first 400m before settling into a good rhythm. He had a roughie to his outside, a danger behind him and the fav was last. Cian controlled the speed well and toward the 600m was off and gone. Into the straight he was 2 then 3 lengths clear with He’s On Song who
trailed him the closest and Finance Merchant the fav making ground out wide.
The time was relatively slow, 1m53.53s which was 7.14lens slower than
standard.
They really did steady up mid race and Cian was able to get Fully Justified travelling
before pressing the button. When he went for him before the turn he showed a nice
turn of foot to put a gap on them which he held to the line despite star gazing a bit in
the straight. The win took his overall career to 3 starts, 1 – 0 – 0 $19,090.

This was a really strong win by the son of Champion Justify and as his pedigree suggests he may get out to a nice staying trip even a tilt at the Gr1 South Australian Derby may be on the cards.
A well bred youngster, Fully Justified was a 250k purchase at the 2024 Adelaide Magic Millions Sale from very good vendors Bowness Stud. He is a son of unbeaten Triple Crown winner Justify from the Smart Missile mare Full Of Beans. Full Of Beans is a ½ sister to the Gr1 Doomben Cup & Queen Of The Turf winner Kenedna, a ½ sister to Gr2 BTC Sprint winner Spill The Beans and Listed winner Mustalem. Full Of Beans dam Miss Dodwell is a sister to Blab dam of Gr1 winner Speak Fondly and her 2nd dam is a sister to Tommy Smiths great Champion Bounding Away.
Congratulations to all owners in Fully Justified and thankyou to Ciaron Maher and his Team at Ballarat.
