Bennett Racing 2yo Deep Field filly Beauty Rising impressively notched up her 1st win when winning well at Sandown. The Philip Stokes trained filly was having her 3rd start after failing to gain a start in the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stks on Saturday when 2nd emergency.
The filly jumped well under leading jockey Jamie Kah and took a sit in 2nd outside the leader. Jamie had the filly in a great rhythm and was always travelling well. When the field straightened up Beauty Rising was still sitting 2nd poised to strike and after Jamie got busy on her she chased the leader down to be too strong the final 50m. The first 2 fillies gapped 3rd in an impressive and controlled race. Beauty Rising carrying a big weight 58kg won by a length going away with a further 3.75L back to 3rd. The race was run in a good time with the filly coming home in a slick 11.82 sec for her last 200m.
Phil and Jamie both felt that she may be looking to go out now and be aimed at the spring.
The filly was 2nd on debut at Moonee Valley last prep behind a smart filly and was good 1st up this prep when a 3L 6th in the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude. The filly had always showed good ability right from the time she was broken in at Mustoka Farm last year. Phillip Stokes and his team had always held her in high regard and Phillip feels the filly looks an ideal Gr1 1000 Guineas prospect in the spring.
A 160k purchase from the 2022 Magic Millions Sale, the filly was in the Kingstar Farm Draft and is a daughter of the twice winning Galileo mare Coral Reef. Already the dam of 2 stakeshorses in Miss Moana & Hollywood Mo, Beauty Rising becomes Coral Reef’s 6th individual winner which of course includes a Bennett Racing favourite in Apache Star, who is also trained by Phillip Stokes.
