Bennett Racing 6yo Zoupurring recorded his 2nd win in 3 South Australian starts at Morphettville over 1200m on Saturday. After winning 1st up 13 September the gelding was too far out of his ground 2nd up but after a well judged ride on by jockey Jacob Opperman Zoupurring saw him bounce back and make light of his 60.5kg impost.

The gelding was always well placed throughout the run and showed so much determination in the end holding on to win by 0.5L from his lightly weighted stablemate. The Team will look at his program moving forward realising that the weight the horse will have to carry now may restrict him moving forward. The new 25/26 racing seasons wins of Broadbeach Miss, Capitalex, Watadeel and Zoupurring have highlighted the successful placement by the Stable and the Team of transferring horses  to Stokes Racing Morphettville Stables. The win to Zoupurring took his overall career: 25 starts, 6 – 3 – 4 $216,615 and the 6yo is now a triple metropolitan winner.

Zoupurring was purchased at the 2021 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale from Rosemont Stud for 100k. He is a son of Champion sire Zoustar and from the Flying Spur mare Tara’s Spur. Interesting Zoupurring is bred on the exact same cross as The Astrologist.  Congratulations to all owners in Zourpurring and a big thankyou to Phillip Stokes Racing for the great job done with Zoupurring now winning 2 of his last 3 starts in South Australia.
