A brilliant front running ride by Thomas Stockdale saw Bennett Racing 4yo mare Beauty Rising notch up her 3rd metro win at Morphettville on Saturday. After jumping well, Thomas took the mare straight to the front and even though a little pressure was applied to her, she came back under him and strode along boldy. Turning for home Beauty Rising was full of running and had the field off the bit chasing. She never gave anything a chance to catch her in the run to the line, winning easily by 2 Len.
This really was a great training effort by Phil, Tommy & Kerran as the mare was returning to racing after pulling up with EPI after her last start 1/3/25 and had to trial before the stewards on the 8/425 before allowed to race again.
Beauty Rising as a juvenile, showed so much potential, running 2nd at Moonee Valley on debut which was followed up by a good run in the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude. Winning at Sandown at her 3rd start as a 2yo, she was put away for the spring.
The filly didn’t seem to come up as a 3yo with only one placing in 3 starts that coming at Flemington when 2nd over 1400m. She was then transferred to Annabel Neasham with the thought that the change may settle her down. After 4 starts with only one placing the filly was then sent back to Phil Stokes to train from his Adelaide base. Under the guidance of Phil’s sons Tommy and Kerran, Beauty Rising seems to have matured and regained form, winning 2 of her 4 starts this campaign both at Morphettville. A tile at the Proud Miss Stks in Adelaide may be on the cards after todays very impressive win.
The win took Beauty Rising’s overall record to 14 starts, 3 – 3 – 0 $142,350 and now boasting wins at Sandown, Morphettville twice and placings at Flemington & Moonee Valley.
A daughter of top sire Deep Field, Beauty Rising was a 160k purchase at the 2022 MM Gold Coast Yearling Sale from her breeders Kingstar Farm. A well bred mare, Beauty Rising is a full sister to Gr3 Tiara Stks placed Ningaloo Star, ¾ sister to Bennett Racing’s Stay Focused winner of Listed Nitsche Stks & placed in Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude & Mc Neil Stks, 3/4 sister to Bennett Racing’s exciting 2yo Stay Cosmic winner & 2nd in Listed Anzac Day Stks, ½ sister to Gr2 South Australian Fillies Classic placed Miss Moana, ½ sister to Listed Geelong Classic placed Hollywood Mo and 7 time winner Bennett Racing’s recently retired Apache Star.
Congratulations to all owners in Beauty Rising who have shown great patience with the mare and thankyou to Phil, Tommy & Kerran Stokes and their Teams for rejuvenating her career and getting her over her last start EPI issue.
