Well bred Bennett Racing mare Broadbeach Miss showed a terrific turn off foot when breaking her maiden at Morphettville last Saturday. The light raced 5yo having her 8th start broke the gates well and was always travelling well under Jacob Opperman.

There was good speed here early and Jacob Opperman, off a win for BR on Watadeel the week before, elected to stalk the pace in 3rd. He made his move to the turn and soon after straightening, she hit the front and burst away. Broadbeach Miss showed no signs of weakening and went on to win comfortably by a length in the good time of 1m14.74s for the 1250m.

Terrific win by Broadbeach Miss and another big tick for the management of these horses by Bennett Racing in maximising their racing potential and adding to their post racing value. Broadbeach Miss becomes another well bred Bennett Racing Filly/Mare who has ventured to SA to either win her Maiden or enhance her record in the Metro area – think Street Delight, Beauty Rising, Royal Obsession, Beauty Bound and now Broadbeach Miss. This has been a very successful tactic for Bennett Racing and Broadbeach Miss can progress further towards another win in the rich vein of form she is in. Great work by the Stokes Team in Adelaide to get this girl from Dom Sutton and have her looking and racing so well.

Now a Metro Winner, this flashy daughter of Not A Single Doubt should be able to be placed to advantage to get another Metro win whilst in SA. The win took her overall career: 8 starts, 1 – 2 – 1 $49,015. As a metro winning daughter of Champion Sire Not A Single Doubt, Broadbeach Miss should be highly sought after when her racing career is over.

A 220k purchase from Arrowfield Stud at the 2022 Magic Millions Yearling Sale Broadbeach Miss is particularly well bred with her dam the smart American stakeswinner TARA FROM THE CAPE, by Leroidesanimaux. 2 wins at 2 at 4½f, 7½f, $152,668, Delaware Park Thomas (Tuck) Greene Memorial S., L, and also 4th Keeneland Alcibiades S., Gr.1 and the  Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Gr.1. TARA FROM THE CAPE was a ½ sister to ROYAL MO, winner of Santa Anita Robert B Lewis S., Gr.3 and 3d Santa Anita Derby, Gr.1. TARA FROM THE CAPE granddam was the outstanding racemare IRISH LINNET who had 19 wins, won 13 stakesraces and  $1,220,180 on the track incl Belmont New York H., Gr.2, Noble Damsel H., Gr.3-twice, Lake Country S., L, Cathy Baby S., L, Squander S., L, Ticonderoga H., L, Saratoga Yaddo S., L-5 times, Penn National Breeders’ Cup H., L.

Congratulations to all owners in Broadbeach Miss on her great win and thankyou to Phillip Stokes and his Adelaide Team.
