Bennett Racing 3yo colt Extreme Diamond has always shown a fair amount of ability. Unfortunately on debut at Sandown he was trapped wide and although beaten only 3 lens the colt didn’t deliver to expectations. At Geelong the son of Champion sire Extreme Choice did deliver and gave a glimpse of his talent. Ridden again by Ethan Brown the colt jumped quick and was soon pressing for the lead. Ethan took all risk out of the equation and allowed him to sit outside the well backed debutante. The speed was good but the colt was always travelling sweetly and although it did take a little urging from Ethan to pull away, the colt did respond and basically won untouched. The Team along with Ethan predict a very bright future for the colt and possible stakes goals may await him down the track. Extreme Diamond had put together some nice trials in Sydney and the Team at Bong Bong Farm have the colt very well educated. As with quite a few youngsters in the Ciaron Maher system, horses are regularly shifted from location to location to help bring them on and get them used to travelling. This has certainly worked with Extreme Diamond as the colt made few if any mistakes at Geelong.

He is a son of the Horse Of The Year Dissident mare Diamond Valley herself out of the twice Listed winning American mare Mullins Beach. Mullins Beach was a extremely fast stakes mare winning or placing in 8 group / stakes races. Another daughter of Mullins Beach produced the Group 1 ATC Sires Produced placed Pier Pressure.
