Bennett Racings tough gelding Magnaspin recorded his 7th win when a brilliant frontrunning ride by Jamie Kah saw him hold off all challengers at Caulfield on Saturday.
Lining up for his 39th start the son of Magnus was coming off 4 successive 6th placings since resuming at the end of November. His previous run showed a return to form and after jumping well, Jamie slid the gelding over to take up the running. After successive 13plus sectionals, the field played into Jamie’s hands and let her dictate the race from in front and with little or no pressure throughout. Turning for home Magnaspin was still travelling well and Jamie kicked for home which proved to be a winning move. With the favourite still back in the field, Magnaspin held a great gallop to the line, never looking like they would catch him.

He went on to record an easy win in the end and edged closer to that magical 1 Mil in earnings with such a well judged ride by Jamie.
The win took Magnaspin’s overall record to 39 starts, 7 – 4 – 6 $945,800.
A son of former good sire Magnus, Magnaspin comes from a solid family of horses similar to himself, tough as nails and very honest. Magnaspin was purchased from the 2021 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale
from Maluka Thoroughbreds, Avenel and cost $60,000.
Congratulations to all owners in Magnaspin and thankyou to Malua Racing.
