Bennett Racings import New Business put it all together when a strong winner at Kensington last week. The import was having his 8th run in Australia and had proven to be a little frustrating for the Archibalds and his owners.
New Business jumped and took a trail initially before coming to the outside before the turn and taking over at the 300m. The gelding held out all the challengers in the end to win comfortably. It was a well judged ride by Tim Clarke who went with the import instead of fighting with him.
New Business had unfortunately injured a hind fetlock not long after his importation which required a long time of re-hab and all credit to Annabel & Rob and their Team for getting him to the track.
The import seemed to struggle to adapt to the Australian way of racing and obviously resented being pulled back in most of his early but after the suggestion to the Team to send him forward, he seemed much better rolling along infront. Some encouraging runs then saw the gelding “bolt” under Rachael King and setting a frantic pace at Gosford before dropping out.
The win gave notice to the ability that New Business had shown in the UK which attracted the Bennett Racing Team and resulted in his purchase for approx 120k aud at the 2023 Tattersalls Horses In Training Sale.
New Business GB is a son of Champion sire Sea The Stars out of the Gr3 pl Invincible Spirit mare Instance who is a ½ sister to Seal Of Approval winner of the Gr1 British Champions Mares Stks.
New Business comes from a very strong International Family of Gr1 milers and up to that distance seems to be where New Business is suited.

Congratulations to all owners in New Business and a big thankyou to the Team at Archibald Racing..
