What an impressive debut by Bennett Racing 2yo filly Beauty Rising at Moonee Valley on Friday night. The Phillip Stokes trained Deep Field filly was kept safe in the market and paraded beautifully in the mounting yard, taking it all in her stride. Jumping well she didn’t have the early speed to go forward and Zac Spain had no hesitation to let her ease back to the tail of the field. Seemingly under pressure the filly began to be riding along down the side but still a long way off the leader, the filly began a very wide run to the turn. Still giving away a considerable amount of ground on straightening the filly then unleased an amazing turn off foot, mowing down the ground to run an incredible 2nd beaten just over 2 Len.
What looked very good visually was backed up on the clock. Beauty Rising ran the quickest last 400m 22.76s of the meeting and the quickest last 200m 11.42s of the meeting. In relation to her opponents, she was the only filly to break 23s last 400m and 11.5s last 200m. Note: Beauty Rising was the only horse for the entire meeting to break 23s last 400m and 11.5s last 200m.
Phil and the Team very very impressed by the run and plans moving forward may include a shot at the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stks to be run at the spacious Sandown track this year.
A 160k Magic Millions Gold Coast purchase, Beauty Rising is a 1/2 sister to Bennett Racing favorite Apache Star metro winner. She is also a 1/2 sister to the stakes placegetters Miss Moana & Hollywood Mo all being progeny of the well related Galileo mare Coral Reef. Quite a valuable filly with a Metropolitan placing behind her at her debut.
Certainly, an exciting debut by Beauty Rising and a promise of more to come for her owners.
