Wow what a debut performance by 3yo Vancouver filly Canadian Gold. The filly jumped away slowly but not one to panic Lochie King got the filly into a lovely rhythm and gradually edged her closer throughout the race. Turning for home he angled her out and the filly responded, pinning her ears back and driving to the line to win easily by 2 len in good time.
The filly had always shown nice ability in her trials and Leon and his team at Geelong had worked on getting the filly to settle behind this prep. That education showed out today as the filly looked sensational in full flight to the line.
Purchased out of Melbourne Premier sale from Noorilim draft, Canadian Gold is another winner for her Gr2 winning dam Miss Pelear.
The filly also becomes the 5th winner from the class of 2019 yearlings which of course includes Gr3 winner Zou Dancer.
Congratulations to all owners and another great training effort from Malua Racing.
