WOW didn’t Fawkner Park GB announced himself as a serious Spring player with an awesome display at Eagle Farm on Saturday, winning the 1.2mil Gr2 HKJC World Pool Q22 over 2200m.

The 5yo import jumped well and Tyler Schiller placed him in a lovely position throughout.  Coming to the home turn Tyler was just sitting patiently and after angling him into clear room, Fawkner Park simply ambled up to the leaders before unleashing a paralysing burst and put the race away within 50 metres eventually easing down to win by nearly 4 Lens. It was poetry in motion throughout the race and exhilarating to see his unbelievably quick turn of foot and especially towards the end of a race over the 2200m. What a special gelding he is after claiming his 1st couple of Listed Cup races at Albury and Wagga Wagga in March and May before graduating up to Gr1 level when a very unlucky 3rd in the Doomben Cup. But that run in particular signalled his impending arrival into top level racing in Australia and was re-enforced by his dominate win on Saturday.

Just how far this exciting boy can go only time will tell but judging by the authority and complete dominance over a quality field of Gr1 winners, the sky may be the limit. The European import is looking to follow in the footsteps of his former stablemate Zaaki, as Neasham dares to dream, with Fawkner Park now a $14 favourite for the Group 1 Caulfield Cup. The five-year-old was racing in an Albury Cup as little as three months ago, but will now be shooting for the stars after Tyler Schiller rode him like the best stayer in the land.

In bringing up his 7th Australian win, Fawkner Park took his overall record to 17 starts 8 wins 1 x 2nd 2 x 3rds $1,311,702 with a promise of so much more to come. Fawkner Park was a 120k gns purchase for Bennett Racing Neasham Racing and Stuart Boman Blandford Bldstk at the 2022 Tattersalls HIT Training Sale and is a 1/2 brother to Gr2 Herbert Power winner Saracen Knight.

Congratulations to all owners on Fawkner Park’s scintillating win and thankyou to Annabel Neasham and her Team for a superb training effort.
