Bennett Racing 3yo filly Flying D’Amore made a mess of them when breaking her maiden over 1100m at Beaudesert on Saturday. The attractive daughter of leading young sire Russian Revolution was having her 2nd start this prep and 4th overall when she stepped out as a $1.65 fav. When the well backed 2nd fav came out at the barriers, Flying D’Amore was a prohibitive fav at $1.30. Ridden to dominate like a $1.30 fav should, Jag got Flying D’Amore into the key spot right behind the pace stalking the leaders. He made his move pushing out into the open before the turn and despite Flying D’Amore wandering around a bit in the straight, she put the race away very quickly for a comfortable win. The time was relative to the class – there was 1 other 1100m race a 0-58 which was run in 1m05.04s – 0.25s quicker than Flying D’Amore. Never in doubt throughout the run, jockey Jag Guthmann-Chester had the 3yo just off the lead and when he swung the filly for home, she simply accelerated like a nice horse eventually winning by 2.3 Len.
Flying D’Amore showed good ability on debut when running 3rd at Eagle Farm back in November. Beaten under a length at her next start, the filly was put away and resumed with a pass mark at Doomben over 1200m. The filly had obviously taken good improvement from that run and presented fit and ready to go on Saturday.
It was great to see the filly knuckle down and sprinted away at the end, giving good promise for much better things ahead. This was a very nice win by Flying D’Amore who improves her record to 4 starts for 1 win and a Metro placed 3rd. Not sure she was comfortable on the wet track it just looked like she was way better than the rest and won well whilst probably not really at her best. Starting fav at her 1st 2 starts, she has always shown ability and now in her 2nd racing prep, she looks ready to go on with it.
The well bred daughter of 2yo stakeswinner Belle D’Amore, Flying D’Amore was a 120k purchase from Magic Millions in 2022.
Congratulations to all owners in Flying D’Amore and thankyou to Annabel Neasham and her Team. Would expect she is at least Midweek Metro grade and hopefully can go further.
