Our talented 2yo Filly SHE SHAO FLY, boosted her reputation and value when running a terrific 3rd in the Gr 3 BREEDERS STAKES at Morphettville. The daughter of EPAULETTE was moving up in distance to 1200m, a distance she had Won and run 3rd at in 2 previous attempts. Facing a small but competitive field, SHE SHAO FLY was rated the 2nd favourite at post time. Settling back, jockey Jason Holder elected to go to the inside and try for luck. Ultimately the luck she had, was all bad…held up until about 150m from home, she got out late and roared to the line to run 3rd, just missing 2nd. Her effort under the circumstances was first class and who knows, with a better uninterrupted run, she may have challenged the winner.
Although disappointed we again had no luck, obviously all involved are thrilled to earn a Group Placing and excited by what lay ahead for this girl. Her immediate goal, all being well, is the 1400m Gr3 Sires Produce to be held in 2 weeks time.
She looked terrific and performed beautifully. She is now a very valuable filly with hopefully her best days still ahead.
