Congratulations to all Royal Obsession’s patient owners with her 1st up win today at Morphettville. Ridden for speed out of the barrier by Jacob Opperman Royal Obsession took over 200mtrs after the start and showed blistering speed throughout. The filly kicked away on turning for home and held on well to win.
What a supreme effort by her and by Leon and Troy Corstens and their Malua Racing Team.
It gives us all such great satisfaction to see this filly not only back at the races but to be a metropolitan winner 1st up after life saving Colic surgery in December.
The filly had always shown very good speed and was tipped out after her debut run. But whilst in the spelling paddock she had a bad bout of colic requiring part of her intestine to be sectioned. Thanks to Kim at Bellarine Agistment Farm, who nursed her back to health.
Now a very valuable filly being a metro winning 1/2 sister to top mare Twilight Royale who has enjoyed phenomenal sales ring results with her progeny.
Residual value with fillies has never been more evident than in recent times highlighted by the recent outstanding sales ring results by Bennett Racing mares She Shao Fly, Goldifox and Too Easy Sis.
