Bennett Racing 4yo Chamber’s Bay bought up win number 3 with a dominant win at Gawler over 1516m on Wednesday. Ridden by inform Kayla Crowther the big gelding was tackling heavy ground for the first time but looked to relish the conditions racing away to win by over 3 Lens.

Mindful that he wasn’t proven on the ground, after jumping well Kayla kept the boy close as she could to the rail, a length behind the leader who was tracking wide. Chamber’s Bay looked comfortable throughout and on straightening Kayla sent him to the lead. Looking for better ground in the straight she let him drift out further and he simply powered home for an easiest of wins.

As his career unfolds Chamber’s Bay is showing his distance range is anywhere between 1200m and 1600m, he is adaptable having won on turf and synthetic and also handles all going.

A terrifically consistent galloper who has finished in the first 4 in half his starts, the win took Chamber’s Bays overall record to 16 starts, 3 – 1 – 2 $65,400 with promise of more to come in the winter months.

He was a 22k purchase from the 2021 Magic Millions Sale from the draft of Valiant Stud. Chambers Bay is a ½ brother to the dual Gr1 winner Platelet, who amongst her 5 stakes wins were the Gr1 Goodwood Hcp & Gr1 Sangster Stks. He is the 8th winner from the Dracula mare Bloodline. This is an old Woodlands family which goes back to the good Group winning sprinter Hockney.

Congratulations to all owners in Chambers Bay and a terrific training effort by Tommy Stokes to get the big boy back on track after his last run which was out of character.
