Kevin Corstens trained 3yo filly Kalkarni Royale lined up at Cranbourne Friday night in a BM 64 against the older horses off her impressive maiden win at Mornington a few weeks ago.
Once again the filly jumped well out of the gates with Dwayne electing to ride her quietly into the race and then take up the lead. Approaching the home turn you could see this daughter of Nicconi still had plenty in the tank as Dwayne kicked her clear at the 200m mark showing a great turn of foot and was strong to the line holding the rest of them at bay. In what was an impressive effort the 3yo filly is now unbeaten in her two starts both against older horses.
