ZOU SENSATION JUST BRILLIANT & GETS HIS 1ST STAKES WIN

A brilliant well judged ride from in front saw Bennett Racing 6yo Zou Sensation claim his 1st stakes win at Caulfield on Saturday in the Listed Weekend Hussler Stks. Coming off a terrific run when a close up 6th in the Gr1 Sir Ruphert Clarke Stks two weeks ago, Zou Sensation with Ben Allen riding, jumped well and took up the running.
Setting a good pace with Rhinoceros sitting up outside him the big boy continued to roll along comfortably and kicked away rounding the turn. In full flight down the straight, Ben put the race to bed with Zou Sensation comfortably cruising to a 2 Len win.
What a remarkable prep this has been for the gelding who resumed in May after a fruitless Qld campaign in January. He resumed in May and his 7 starts this prep have netted 4 wins and over 388k in prizemoney. Such a tough performer who may now head over to Perth in the summer for the Gr1 Winterbottom Stks & The Gold Rush.
The win took Zou Sensations overall career to 28 starts, 8 – 3 – 4 $689,775.
A 150k purchase at the 2021 Magic Millions Sale from Widden Stud draft, Zou Sensation is by Champion Sire Zoustar and becomes Bennett Racings 4th individual stakeswinner by that Champion after The Astrologist,  Zou Dancer and Zaszou. From the very good Group winning Danehill Dancer mare Dame Claire Zou Sensation is a 3/4 brother to Bennett Racing’s promising 3yo filly Zouclaire.
