Bennett Racing 4yo Sebring mare Beauty Bound has certainly tested everyone’s patience but that patience was rewarded on Sunday when the mare careered away for an easy win at Murwillumbah on Sunday. Ridden by Brodie Loy the mare jumped well and was soon attacking the early speed. Brodie elected to let that battle continue and sat Beauty Bound behind the speed. Beauty Bound appreciated that speed and although over racing a little, she up on the bit and ready to strike on straightening. When the gap appeared along the rails, Brodie simply asked the mare and she instantly delivered powering away on the Heavy 8 to win by 3.2 Len.

Coming off a terrific last start 2nd at Kembla Grange against tougher opposition, Beauty Bound was looking to string together another good run after 2 inglorious efforts this time in. In winning on Sunday Beauty Bound took her overall record to 5 starts 1 win 2 x 2nds with prizemoney of 29.5K.

A tricky highly strung mare Beauty Bound had certainly raked up the frequent flyer points after originally starting off under the care of Tony Gollan in Queensland. The filly showed to be a very tough customer for Tony and it was decided to send the filly down to Victoria to Dane Smith at Stawell. Dane went about teaching the filly to settle and his barrier education work is still evident as she loads and jumps well still now.

With the different laws between racing Vic and Racing NSW regarding filly and mares treatments, it was decided to send the filly to Annabel Neasham at Warwick Farm.

Facing the starter for the 1st time back in March ’23 at Wyong on a Heavy 10, Beauty Bound went down narrowly by a head after racing a bit fiercely. It was decided to spell the filly as she was over doing it and she resumed for her 2nd start in December at Hawkesbury. There, the now 4yo mare ran 8th of 9 on the Good 4 and was never a factor. A last at Wyong followed that run before she got her act together and ran out of her skin at Kembla Grange again for 2nd.

Realistically the mare is blessed with good ability. Albeit against much inferior opposition her win on Sunday showed the talent she possesses. Hopefully the confidence of the win give help her going forward.

Beauty Bound was a 110k Gold Coast March Yearling sale buy from her breeders Lyndhurst Farm at Warwick. She is the 5th winner for the Secret Savings mare Bella Vedera who as you would know is also the dam of a real Bennett Racing favourite in Goldifox. In a 28 start career Goldifox was a multiple city winner and a stakesplaced 2yo earning nearly 240k on the track. She was a real darling who tried her best always and was sold at the Magic Millions National Broodmare sale for 230k. Incidently Goldifox’s 1st foal a filly by Champion sire Zoustar will be offered at the upcoming Inglis Classic Sale. Bella Vedera is out of the very good producer Royal Season. At stud Royal Season has produced the stakesplaced Superhard, Bennett Racing’s metro winning Royal Obsession and the very smart Group winning filly Twilight Royale. Twilight Royale’s 3yo Snitzel filly Serasana was a winner of this seasons Gr2 Sandown Guineas. A very good sales & racing family with Royal Obsession selling for 240k as a broodmare and Twilight Royale producing quite a few high priced yearlings.

Congratulations to all owners in Beauty Bound and special thankyou to Annabel Neasham and her Team for getting the best out of Beauty Bound.
