Peter Moody is a renowned racehorse trainer based in Pakenham, Australia. His achievements in the horse racing world have left an indelible mark:

Champion Mare Black Caviar: Peter Moody is globally recognized for training the legendary mare Black Caviar. Under his guidance, Black Caviar achieved an undefeated record of 25 consecutive victories, including an impressive 15 Group One wins. Her remarkable feats captured the hearts of racing enthusiasts worldwide, and her victory at Royal Ascot in front of the Queen remains a historic moment.

More Than Black Caviar: While Black Caviar was undoubtedly his banner horse, Moody’s career extends beyond her. He has consistently produced big winners throughout his long and distinguished training journey. His skill and dedication have earned him accolades, and he proudly accepts the praise and admiration bestowed upon him and the mare.

Life Journey: Born in the tiny outback Queensland town of Wyandra, Moody learned to ride almost before he could walk. Horses were an integral part of his life, and he gained valuable experience working for local trainers. His life took a significant turn when he secured a stable hand’s job with the legendary Tommy Smith in Sydney. Later, he trained in Sydney, Brisbane, and eventually settled in Melbourne, where he clinched four premierships.

Retirement and Return: In 2016, Moody stepped away from training, but his passion for the thoroughbred industry drew him back. He now has stables at Pakenham’s training complex in Tynong.

In 2023 saw Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman (formally assistant trainer) form a training partnership. Coleman, who has been an integral part of Moody Racing for over a decade,
