Absolutely thrilled to secure our first ever Easter sale yearling last week and what a filly she is. And yes she is another ZOUSTAR !
The filly offered by the famed Widden Stud who stand ZOUSTAR ,was all we could have hoped for. Although having a reasonably early birth date , the filly was a little immature at the Sale, certainly not pushed and pumped like so many others. She brings together many of the attributes we look for in a ZOUSTAR and owns one outstanding residual pedigree. Being by easily our favourite stallion for sure but she is a 1/2 sister to the very smart stakeswinning filly Members Joy. Retired to stud Members Joy has left the very smart dual Group 2 winner Pure Elation. Our filly’s dam was the Group 3 winning Rosa’s Spur by Golden Slipper winner and top sire Flying Spur – yep the same cross as our own champ The Astrologist ! Our filly’s 2nd dam is the very quick Group 3 winning 2yo Rosa’s Joy who besides our filly’s dam left the stakeswinng 2yo Rosarino dam of stakeswinner Indain Pacific by you guessed it ZOUSTAR ! who just like The Astrologist was 2nd in the Group 1 Newmarket behind another Zoustar in Zoutori.
This filly brings together not only such great Australian speed but her family was developed and nurtured by some of the greats in Australian breeders and trainers Robert Sangster & son Adam and the late great Colin Hayes.
So you can see why we are so excited by this filly’s purchase. She will be given all the time required and trained by Ciaron Maher & David Eustace who loved her.
We were certainly over whelmed by owners contacted us as soon as the hammer fell which resulted in the filly being FULLY sold by end of day !
