First up over 1400m, Irving was ridden further back than normal and saved for a big effort up the straight. Perfectly rated by Daniel Moor, Irving was tough in the drive to the line in edging out Absolvido. Great training performance by Hall of Fame Trainer Lee Freedman to have Irving Lipschitz fit enough to win on resumption. As he gets fitter and goes up in distance, further success is on the menu for this smart gelding.
