A great ride by Declan Bates saw 3yo filly Mona Dream dominate at Cranbourne on Wednesday. racing for the first time with blinkers and on effected going the filly was slowish away and positioned back in the field. Declan bought her out 3 wide near the 800m and on turning for home finished off powerfully to score easily. The filly was a debut winner last year and metro placed at Sandown but has been slow coming to hand this prep. Well done to Archie Alexander and his team and congrats to all owners.
The win of Mona Dream brought up the 11th individual winner this season for Bennett Racing and carries on the great season of our 3yo crop. That crop include Gr3 winner Zou Dancer, city winner Royal Obsession, winners and city placed Canadian Gold, Maid Of Iron and Mona Dream. Winner Defiant Diva also ran so well in the Magic Millions Maiden back in January.
