Hallowed Crown filly Mona Dream made a winning debut at Ballarat on Monday, impressing all with her easy win. The 32k Magic Millions purchase has been a work in progress for trainer Archie Alexander with the filly suffering from “weight issues” since her 2yo days but a long and carefully planned diet and work schedule has seen the filly come back this time as a different horse. Identified at the 2019 Magic Million Sale by Archies father Hamish, who “kept a leg” in the filly, Mona Dream became the 6th debut winner for Bennett Racing.
Jockey Declan Bates had the filly behind the speed after she jumped a little slow and although she looked a little new turning for home she reeled in the leader to win running away.
Congratulations to all owners who have been patient with this filly and have been rewarded with a debut win.
